An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Toledo in the 3rd minute of play forced AA Custelense's goalkeeper Genílson Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Delfim Vasconcelos struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Andrézinho Mazza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AA Custelense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafinha Trancoso in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrézinho Mazza saved Eao from getting behind. Delfim Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrézinho Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delfim Vasconcelos in the 15th minute of the match. Júlio Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Mazza having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Delfim Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 24 played minutes AA Custelense got a freekick which was hit by Víktor Breckenfeld. 31 minutes into the match, AA Custelense's Delfim Vasconcelos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andrézinho Mazza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of AA Custelense booed when Eao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, AA Custelense's André Luís de Toledo tried to score from far away in the 37th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Andrézinho Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafinha Trancoso in the 39th minute of play. Rafinha Trancoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Delfim Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrézinho Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delfim Vasconcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Delfim Toledo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Delfim Vasconcelos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrézinho Mazza was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Rafinha Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafinha Trancoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Andrézinho Mazza made a huge save. After 58 minutes, Claudinho de Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eao and the AA Custelense players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rafinha Trancoso's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Andrézinho Mazza skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rafinha Trancoso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andrézinho Mazza having to make a save. After a rather tough play, AA Custelense's Elói Saldanha got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rd match minute, AA Custelense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delfim Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. 86 minutes into the game, Júlio Freitas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Genílson Mazza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute, Rafinha Trancoso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andrézinho Mazza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
