Spectators: 6946 (Terracing: 5406, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 40) After some careless play in the Guarimanzal defense, Gilvan Valadares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronaldão Puyol. The Guarimanzal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronaldão Puyol should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emerson Valadares in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raimundo Ortiz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabinho Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Raimundo Ortiz came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Guarimanzal's Emerson Valadares. But to his dismay, Emerson Valadares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 17 played minutes Grêmio Atlético Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Guimarães. Emerson Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Raimundo Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronaldão Puyol made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilvan Valadares in the 25th minute. In the 35th minute, Rodolfo Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emerson Valadares struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Raimundo Ortiz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarimanzal. Raimundo Ortiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frédson da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frédson da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frédson da Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. When Emerson Valadares came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Guarimanzal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emerson Valadares couldn't finish the play. Guarimanzal's Ronaldão Puyol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yan Massa in the 62nd minute of play. If Emerson Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frédson da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Raimundo Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Grêmio Atlético Paulista's goalkeeper Raimundo Ortiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emerson Valadares. In the 78th minute, Grêmio Atlético Paulista's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Emerson Valadares fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Frédson da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Raimundo Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Sá in the 83rd minute of play forced Grêmio Atlético Paulista's goalkeeper Raimundo Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Severo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ronaldão Puyol. Guarimanzal's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Guarimanzal's Emerson Valadares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raimundo Ortiz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio Atlético Paulista's zone, Emerson Valadares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimundo Ortiz came out of the goal and Emerson Valadares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frédson da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Raimundo Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frédson da Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raimundo Ortiz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Guarimanzal were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
