Gláuber Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Torcedores do Joinville's Vicente Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Pernambucano in the 17th minute of play. José Maria Dracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Léo Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Haroldo do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jacareacanga's supporters rose to their feet, but Haroldo do Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Orlando Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The Torcedores do Joinville fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orlando Pernambucano was the one to do the kick off. Orlando Pernambucano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Vicente Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Pernambucano in the 60th minute of the match. The supporters of Jacareacanga booed when Torcedores do Joinville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cléber Velloso made in the 67th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Jacareacanga's Antônio Duarte. Jacareacanga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guilherme Rosado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 88th minute Guilherme Rosado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orlando Pernambucano took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vicente Pinheiro. Vicente Pinheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 96th minute, Marco Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Jacareacanga's zone, José Maria Dracena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Léo Vander came out of the goal and José Maria Dracena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Jacareacanga had played much better football throughout.
