But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Bueno couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Perne†as® F.C 39 -XX's zone, João Carlos Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Paraibano came out of the goal and João Carlos Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cléberson Marquez didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 48th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel Coutinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Coutinho in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cléberson Marquez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Wesley Pontes fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Surui's protests and gave Wesley Pontes a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes Surui got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Pontes. Cléberson Marquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cido Paraibano in the 69th minute of play. João Carlos Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Paraibano having to interfere. Wesley Pontes got his second yellow card in the match during the 78th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 79th match minute, Surui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Pontes to maneuver through the defense. If Miguel Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute Cido Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléberson Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
