That made the score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Itaperu's Luiz Fábio Moraes got a free kick in the 8th minute. Raúl Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Veloso having to interfere. Raúl Ceresso scored 2-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Raimundo Veloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Raimundo Veloso was a little too slow when Kiko Teixeira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 3-0. Raimundo Veloso made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Adilson Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. Raúl Ceresso in the 23rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Raimundo Veloso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Raúl Ceresso received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Raimundo Veloso came out and tried to block the shot, but Raúl Ceresso slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 29th minute. With his leg Raimundo Veloso managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when AFC Volares's Raúl Ceresso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Raúl Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clemente Moraes was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Raúl Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Volares's supporters rose to their feet, but Raúl Ceresso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimundo Veloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raúl Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Veloso having to interfere. After having played for 58 minutes, Raúl Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Volares's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raúl Ceresso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd minute there was a penalty for AFC Volares. Carlos Augusto Borges stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Raimundo Veloso. 6-0. In the 66th minute, Clemente Moraes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Sidnei Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Moraes having to interfere. Doriva Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Raimundo Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Raúl Ceresso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raimundo Veloso was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Raimundo Veloso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raúl Ceresso's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Raúl Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Luiz Fábio Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of AFC Volares booed when Itaperu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléberson Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, AFC Volares's goalkeeper Hugo Moraes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sidnei Cardozo. Itaperu's Raimundo Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Ceresso in the 90th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Itaperu's Luiz Fábio Moraes got a free kick in the 96th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raúl Ceresso in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raimundo Veloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee ended the match the AFC Volares players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
