Ulisses Aparecido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Artur Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Eugênio Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulisses Aparecido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eugênio Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Tavares in the 23rd minute of play. Leonel Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Antunes lost his temper 28 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Racing Club! The referee gave All Blacks Schroeder a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vladimir Leal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Racing Club's Leonel Guimarães. 0-1. Rony Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 36 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Souza. If Luiz Fernando Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rony Ortiz in the 42nd minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Leonel Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonel Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Ortiz in the 43rd minute of the match. After 44 minutes of play, All Blacks Schroeder's Luiz Fernando Tasso made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonel Guimarães was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fernando Tasso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Racing Club's Leonel Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. Leonel Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Rony Ortiz sent off a good shot on target. After 59 minutes, Zeca Barreto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racing Club and the All Blacks Schroeder players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th minute, Zeca Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When All Blacks Schroeder's Luiz Fernando Tasso, in the 60th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for All Blacks Schroeder. 63 minutes into the game, Paulo Renato de Lara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Racing Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave All Blacks Schroeder the free kick. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Paulo Renato de Lara got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fernando Tasso came free, but Leonel Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All Blacks Schroeder's Moisés Domingues pulled a muscle in his leg after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Luiz Paulo Torres hit a great ball. If Rony Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osmar Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Leonel Guimarães acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 93rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vladimir Leal.
