An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilvan Palmeira in the 24th minute of play forced Palmeiras Gude's goalkeeper Ivo Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cherente's Matías Souto in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Lino Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Cherente were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matías Souto was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Palmeiras Gude getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Diamantino Soeiro hit a great ball. After having played for 62 minutes, Wágner Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmeiras Gude's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wágner Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lino Braga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 63rd minute of the match. Wágner Lara took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lino Braga. Lino Braga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Matías Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Carioca having to interfere. If Gilvan Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute Matías Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Palmeiras Gude's Ivo Carioca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Palmeiras Gude from getting a goal against them. After 81 played minutes Gilvan Palmeira could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-3 into the left cross. Wágner Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mateus Motta charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mateus Motta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd match minute, Cherente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateus Motta to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cherente walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
