In the 7thth minute of the game Luiz Guilherme Barreto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marins SC's Franklin Varela was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Marins SC's zone, Wágner Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franklin Varela came out of the goal and Wágner Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Oséas Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franklin Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Ivo Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas Leme in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, Palmeiras Gude was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos Valladares to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ivo Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Oséas Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramiro Medeiros got free with Ivo Carioca in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dinei Paranaense during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

Ivo Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marins SC's Franklin Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Marins SC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Oséas Leme hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Wágner Lara notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Marins SC's Franklin Varela. Franklin Varela was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marquinhos Valladares's late challenge caught a Marins SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marquinhos Valladares helped the player get up and apologised. Marquinhos Valladares hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Ivo Carioca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ramiro Medeiros's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Ivo Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Medeiros in the 76th minute of play. When Diamantino Soeiro fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmeiras Gude's protests and gave Diamantino Soeiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th minute, Diamantino Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marquinhos Valladares got his second yellow card in the match during the 79th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 80 played minutes Palmeiras Gude got a freekick which was hit by Marquinhos Valladares. After 80 played minutes, Marins SC's Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivo Carioca came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marins SC reached it. When Wágner Lara came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Palmeiras Gude fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wágner Lara couldn't finish the play. Wágner Lara struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Franklin Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras Gude. 91 minutes into the match, Palmeiras Gude's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Medeiros came free, but Ivo Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldinho Toscano hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After having played for 95 minutes, Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marins SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Palmeiras Gude players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
