If José Paulo Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 22 minutes, Edvaldo Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosmos Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edvaldo Saraiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juninho Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo Vides having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Corumbalina's zone, Juninho Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dalmo Vides came out of the goal and Juninho Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Cosmos Futebol Clube booed when Corumbalina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Corumbalina's Américo Botelho got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute, Agnaldo Britto sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Corumbalina's Dalmo Vides didn't even have to move. Armando Coutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Gustavo de Castro in the 48th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Edvaldo Saraiva made the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Corumbalina got a freekick which was hit by Luís Gustavo de Castro. Armando Coutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Paulo Leme in the 59th minute of the match. After 61 played minutes Corumbalina got a freekick which was hit by Zézinho Bertassi. 62 minutes into the game, Dé Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corumbalina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cosmos Futebol Clube the free kick. Corumbalina's Dalmo Vides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Silva in the 70th minute of play. Dalmo Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvaldo Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Agnaldo Britto struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Dalmo Vides didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cosmos Futebol Clube. After some careless play in the Corumbalina defense, Agnaldo Britto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dalmo Vides. The Corumbalina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dalmo Vides should have stopped the shot. Luís Gustavo de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Gustavo de Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Armando Coutinho made a huge save. If Agnaldo Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
