Dalmo Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Valdemar Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Maurício Veloso notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Jacu's Valdemar Koehler. Valdemar Koehler was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Placa's Kléberson Donato got a free kick in the 14th minute. Jacu's Valdemar Koehler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Sousa in the 16th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Mané Meirelles kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Giovani Meira. That made the score 1-1 in the 19 minute of play. A collision led to Jacu getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Eusébio Barral hit a great ball. If Dalmo Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 minutes, Maurício Veloso made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Jacu's Valdemar Koehler tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 42 played minutes Placa got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson Donato. Placa's Giovani Meira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mané Meirelles in the 45th minute of play. The supporters of Jacu booed when Placa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raí Urbano didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mané Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mané Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jacu's Mané Meirelles got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Giovani Meira came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Jacu's Mané Meirelles. But to his dismay, Mané Meirelles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Dalmo Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Maurício Veloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdemar Koehler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maurício Veloso ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Jacu's Valdemar Koehler got control of the ball when Maurício Veloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute, Joélson Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 72 minutes into the match, Placa's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Meirelles came free, but Giovani Meira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 79 minutes, Maurício Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Placa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurício Veloso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Placa's Amadeu Gonçalves broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 88 minutes, Kléberson Donato mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Placa and the Jacu players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th match minute, Placa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Donato to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 93 minutes, Valdemar Koehler successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Maurício Veloso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valdemar Koehler. That made the score 2-3 in the 95 minute of play.
