When Tome's Arí Godoi in 4 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Gualter do Valle guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benê Luz in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sílvio Veloso saved Tome from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Imperadores FC's zone, Arí Godoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualter do Valle came out of the goal and Arí Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renato Carvalho in the 19th minute of play forced Imperadores FC's goalkeeper Gualter do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 minutes, Bebeto Tande mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Imperadores FC and the Tome players grew even worse after the yellow card. Renato Carvalho took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gualter do Valle. Gualter do Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Hernani Corrêa charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hernani Corrêa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hernani Corrêa hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Gualter do Valle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Renato Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Aníbal Arce's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sílvio Veloso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. The Imperadores FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tome were winning 0-1.

Valdemar Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Aníbal Arce made a precise shot to the right of Sílvio Veloso. Tome's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Aníbal Arce blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sílvio Veloso having to make a save. Valdemar Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. If Aníbal Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benê Luz in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 84th minute Benê Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renato Carvalho took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gualter do Valle. Gualter do Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Sílvio Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benê Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The audience was convinced that Tadeu Pontes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sílvio Veloso was relentless in the 98th minute of the game. Tome's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
