The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hélio Seco in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdemar Koehler saved Jacu from getting behind. The supporters of Jacu booed when Inter Valqueire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Luís Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Luís Leme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Valdemar Koehler made a huge save. In the 33rd minute, Aloísio Luz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jacu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Inter Valqueire's Pedro Luís Leme got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Luís Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélio Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Seco in the 51st minute of play forced Jacu's goalkeeper Valdemar Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Zé Roberto Neto fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jacu's protests and gave Zé Roberto Neto a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Jacu's Zé Roberto Neto got a free kick in the 57th minute. Valdemar Koehler came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Inter Valqueire's Pedro Luís Leme. But to his dismay, Pedro Luís Leme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. José Vítor Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mané Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Mello during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Inter Valqueire's Abel Mello got a free kick in the 66th minute. If Mané Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inter Valqueire's José Vítor Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mané Meirelles in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute Mané Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Vítor Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusébio Barral kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Pedro Luís Leme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter Valqueire's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Luís Leme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdemar Koehler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
