The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodriguinho Machado's late challenge caught a Bigodes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodriguinho Machado helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Imperadores FC! Gualter do Valle had in the 14thth minute some difficulties stopping Mazinho Quadros's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 19th minute, Vito Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Vito Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Vito Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bigodes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vito Perez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 28 played minutes Vito Perez rounded Imperadores FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. 32 minutes into the game, Imperadores FC's Bebeto Tande nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mateus Linhares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Vito Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Gualter do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Vito Perez came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Bigodes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vito Perez couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Vito Perez took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Gualter do Valle to make any attempt to save it. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vito Perez was the one to do the kick off. Bigodes FC's Mateus Linhares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Bigodes FC from getting a goal against them. After 53 played minutes Bigodes FC got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Sousa. When Vito Perez came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Bigodes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vito Perez couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu Pontes in the 60th minute of play forced Bigodes FC's goalkeeper Mateus Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aníbal Arce came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mateus Linhares could save by the left post. Bigodes FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Aníbal Arce scored to the left of an out of position Mateus Linhares, making the score, 3-3. Vito Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Gualter do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mateus Linhares was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roberto Leite during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Bigodes FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Roberto Leite hit a great ball. If Aníbal Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Bigodes FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Imperadores FC to win.
