Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jarbas Mazza kicked off to start the match. Dráusio Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Neto in the 5th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Jacu's zone, Roberto Sabóia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdemar Koehler came out of the goal and Roberto Sabóia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Norberto Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marvai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Gilvan Mota fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marvai's protests and gave Gilvan Mota a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Marvai's Gilvan Mota got a free kick in the 28th minute. If Jarbas Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Mané Meirelles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Dráusio Freire was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mané Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marvai were furious when Noel Teles was red carded, 53 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 54 played minutes Marvai got a freekick which was hit by Noel Teles. Marvai's Dráusio Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mané Meirelles in the 58th minute of play. Valdemar Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Koehler having to interfere. 66 minutes into the game, Jarbas Mazza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marvai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jacu the free kick. Jarbas Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Jarbas Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Koehler having to interfere. Valdemar Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Valdemar Koehler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jarbas Mazza's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Meirelles in the 73rd minute of play forced Marvai's goalkeeper Dráusio Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Eusébio Barral could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Dráusio Freire however easily saved by the left post. Dráusio Freire made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Aloísio Luz sent off a good shot on target. Jarbas Mazza struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Valdemar Koehler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marvai. Norberto Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Valdemar Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jacu's goalkeeper Valdemar Koehler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Marvai's Dráusio Freire got control of the ball when Aloísio Luz tried to sneak it across the goal line.
