The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Antunes got free with Dráusio Freire in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nilson Proença hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Jonathan Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráusio Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roberto Sabóia charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roberto Sabóia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Marvai getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Roberto Sabóia hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Arósio in the 28th minute of play forced Marvai's goalkeeper Dráusio Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marvai's Dráusio Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Arósio in the 34th minute of play. After some careless play in the Marvai defense, Rodrigo Antunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dráusio Freire. The Marvai fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dráusio Freire should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jarbas Mazza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Valdemar Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dráusio Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Marvai's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Antunes came free, but Dráusio Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Roberto Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex de Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Dráusio Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Orlando da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After 94 minutes of play, Ibicuituba's Rodrigo Antunes made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dráusio Freire was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Ibicuituba's Genílson Martins got a free kick in the 96th minute. The supporters of Ibicuituba booed when Marvai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball.
