Válter Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vladimir Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. José Carlos Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Ratola FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Joaninha FC were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Guga Paiva made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Olavo Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ratola FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Olavo Nóbrega was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Carlos Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
