Tomás Gerber dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Gilvan Salgado fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pompuanas AD's protests and gave Gilvan Salgado a yellow card for diving instead. Gilvan Salgado kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pompuanas AD's zone, Dino Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Gerber came out of the goal and Dino Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dino Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Tomás Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Luan Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Dionísio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Dino Ribeiro made a precise shot to the right of Tomás Gerber. Pompuanas AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Luan Sá struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Tomás Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golden Dogs. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Golden Dogs booed when Pompuanas AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luan Sá in the 66th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Dino Ribeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomás Gerber was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Tomás Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. But to his dismay, Dino Ribeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Golden Dogs walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
