Gil vicente's Vitinho Botelho was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 13th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Vitinho Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Prata having to interfere. José Prata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitinho Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by José Carlos Arruda in the 20th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Ativa Sport Club's Benedito Matos. The audience was convinced that Vitinho Botelho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Prata was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. José Prata was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but José Carlos Arruda showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 38 minute of play. In the 44th minute Vitinho Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Botelho in the 47th minute of play forced Ativa Sport Club's goalkeeper José Prata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Vitinho Botelho made the kick off in the second half. When Paulinho Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Gil vicente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulinho Almeida couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the match, Ativa Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Vitinho Botelho came free, but José Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Vitinho Botelho notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Ativa Sport Club's José Prata. José Prata was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Ativa Sport Club defense, Vitinho Botelho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Prata. The Ativa Sport Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Prata should have stopped the shot. Jerônimo Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vitinho Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ativa Sport Club getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Juan Costa hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, Jerônimo Varela notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Ativa Sport Club's José Prata. José Prata was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 80 minutes into the match, Ativa Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Dráuzio Sanches came free, but José Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rômulo Lopez made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Juan Costa sent off a good shot on target. Vitinho Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Prata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulinho Almeida in the 90th minute of play. Vitinho Botelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Prata read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Ativa Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Varela came free, but José Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gil vicente's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
