The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulinho Almeida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zeca Secco having to make a save. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Crisolita EC's goalkeeper Zeca Secco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Gil vicente's Vitinho Botelho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zeca Secco. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. The supporters of Gil vicente booed when Crisolita EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeferson Breckenfeld didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo Varela in the 15th minute of play forced Crisolita EC's goalkeeper Zeca Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Paulinho Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rômulo Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Paranaense in the 26th minute of the match. In the 26th match minute, Gil vicente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerônimo Varela to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Gil vicente's José Carlos Arruda got a free kick in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Vitinho Botelho made the kick off in the second half. Dorival Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Rômulo Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Gil vicente's Rômulo Lopez got control of the ball when Luiz Paulo Souto tried to sneak it across the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, Gil vicente's Jerônimo Varela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Crisolita EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gil vicente the free kick. After a rather tough play, Crisolita EC's Luiz Paulo Souto got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 76th minute, Paulinho Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 82 minutes of play, Gil vicente's Vitinho Botelho made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeca Secco was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 88 minutes, Adrianinho Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Crisolita EC and the Gil vicente players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Crisolita EC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Adrianinho Alcântara hit a great ball. Rômulo Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Paranaense in the 91st minute of play. Paulinho Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Secco having to interfere. Crisolita EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
