The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Faustão Quintal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 10 minutes into the game, Nazare's Adelino Diniz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustavo Sabóia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Fellipe de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Gilvan Seco notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Amaro AD's Gustavo Sabóia. Gustavo Sabóia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carlos Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Faustão Quintal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustavo Sabóia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Fellipe de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorge Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frédson Recife in the 32nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frédson Recife in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Pinho saved Nazare from getting behind. When Arlindo Arantes fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nazare's protests and gave Arlindo Arantes a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, Amaro AD's Jardel Freire tried to score from far away in the 36th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Fellipe de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Adelino Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Gustavo Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faustão Quintal charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Faustão Quintal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Oswaldo Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Adelino Diniz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo Sabóia having to make a save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faustão Quintal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gustavo Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Quintal in the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fellipe de Alcântara in the 62nd minute of play forced Nazare's goalkeeper Jorge Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adelino Diniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Sabóia having to interfere. Carlos Eduardo de Medeiros hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Nazare's zone, Frédson Recife stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Pinho came out of the goal and Frédson Recife tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fellipe de Alcântara in the 92nd minute of play forced Nazare's goalkeeper Jorge Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Nazare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlindo Arantes to maneuver through the defense. Nazare's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
