In the 2nd minute, Leonel Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute, Yuri Salgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Faustão Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The Gameleira fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Gameleira's Aloísio Rosa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Faustão Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho Medeiros in the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th match minute, FC RAUTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the FC RAUTA defense, Aloísio Rosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Faustão Maia. The FC RAUTA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Faustão Maia should have stopped the shot. Faustão Maia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aloísio Rosa's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gameleira's zone, Yuri Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moacir Barbosa came out of the goal and Yuri Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Faustão Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juninho Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 32nd minute, Juninho Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gameleira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 35 minutes into the match, FC RAUTA's Ulisses Dante broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juninho Medeiros in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faustão Maia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 45 minutes into the match, Juninho Medeiros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Faustão Maia. FC RAUTA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juninho Medeiros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yuri Salgado to make the kick off. FC RAUTA's Faustão Maia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Medeiros in the 53rd minute of play. Leonel Bezerra hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC RAUTA booed when Gameleira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Juninho Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Gameleira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juninho Medeiros couldn't finish the play. After 67th play minutes Yuri Salgado shot 1-4, a short shot which went by Moacir Barbosa and just under the crossbar into goal. Aloísio Rosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Faustão Maia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Gameleira's Aloísio Rosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Faustão Maia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juninho Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Faustão Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gameleira. Aloísio Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aloísio Rosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Faustão Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aloísio Rosa ran back to his position shaking his head. When Juninho Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Gameleira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juninho Medeiros couldn't finish the play. Aloísio Rosa struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Faustão Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gameleira. Aloísio Rosa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 93rd minute. Gameleira's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gameleira's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
