In the 27th minute of the match Váldson Medeiros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miguel Velloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Ramiro Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Avaí F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Oliveira couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Florindo's Egídio Peixoto got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute, Ramiro Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Florindo defense, Ramiro Oliveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miguel Velloso. The Florindo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Velloso should have stopped the shot. Filipe Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Florindo's goalkeeper Miguel Velloso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Alfredão Varela charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 89th match minute, Avaí F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Váldson Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Florindo's Alfredão Varela couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 90th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Avaí F.C.. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kauã de Queiroz in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miguel Velloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
