Adilson Senna made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Ramiro Oliveira sent off a good shot on target. Márcio Alcântara hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kauã de Queiroz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 1-0 became the score in the 54th minute when Ramiro Oliveira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Adilson Senna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kauã de Queiroz's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. In the 58thth minute of the game Kauã de Queiroz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pombos's Adilson Senna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Avaí F.C. booed when Pombos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ramiro Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ricardo Falcão fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pombos's protests and gave Ricardo Falcão a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pombos getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ricardo Falcão hit a great ball. If Kauã de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kauã de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adilson Senna having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauã de Queiroz in the 83rd minute of play forced Pombos's goalkeeper Adilson Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramiro Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jairo Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Filipe Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pombos. Baltazar Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Filipe Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltazar Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Avaí F.C. had played much better football throughout.
