Spectators: 7206 (Terracing: 5406, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 143) ɱarceline XVII's Vitinho Vinhas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Florindo's Alberto Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the game, Jeferson Cavalcante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Florindo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ɱarceline XVII the free kick. Miguel Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitinho Vinhas in the 17th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Florindo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ɱarceline XVII:s goal. In the 29th minute Lúcio Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Ramiro de Moraes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in ɱarceline XVII's zone, Alberto Bertassi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Lira came out of the goal and Alberto Bertassi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitinho Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Velloso having to interfere. Narciso Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Narciso Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Velloso having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ramiro de Moraes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55thth minute of the game Vitinho Vinhas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Florindo's Miguel Velloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vitinho Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Miguel Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ɱarceline XVII's Narciso Travassos pulled a muscle in his leg after 64 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredão Varela during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, ɱarceline XVII's Victor Lira got control of the ball when Alberto Bertassi tried to sneak it across the goal line.
