Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Baltazar Mello started the match with the kick off. In the 10th minute, Valdir Alves collided with one of Meaipe FC's players - so bad that he fractured his nose. After 10 minutes, Murilo Couto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meaipe FC and the Pombos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 played minutes Meaipe FC got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Couto. After having played for 12 minutes, Jairo Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pombos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jairo Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jairo Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Carlos de Medeiros having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Meaipe FC's Jorge Dantas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adilson Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Meaipe FC's Zé Carlos de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Cardoso in the 36th minute of play. If Jorge Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Delfim Camargo's late challenge caught a Meaipe FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delfim Camargo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pombos's Delfim Camargo got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute, Jorge Dantas made a precise shot to the right of Adilson Senna. Pombos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The Meaipe FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Jeferson Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jorge Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 86 minutes, Jorge Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Adilson Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Dantas in the 96th minute of the match.
