Kauã de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Medeiros having to interfere. Cássio Duarte charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The Guaravera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eriberto Medeiros should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Guaravera's zone, Kauã de Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Medeiros came out of the goal and Kauã de Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ramiro Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Medeiros having to interfere. Eriberto Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã de Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Ramiro Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Medeiros having to interfere. If Kauã de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 89th match minute, Avaí F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Carlos Mello to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 92 minutes, Kauã de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avaí F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Kauã de Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eriberto Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Márcio Alcântara in the 95th minute. When the final whistle sounded Avaí F.C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Guaravera.
