Spectators: 7240 (Terracing: 5432, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dida Coelho kicked off to start the match. The audience was convinced that Baltazar Mello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hermínio Lago was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Macarani's Frank Massa got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 16 in the game by Jairo Cardoso from a close distance when the talented Hermínio Lago managed to make a qualified save. Macarani's players were relieved. When Macarani's Frank Massa in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pombos's goalie prevented a goal. Frank Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adilson Senna having to interfere. Angelo Rodrigues's late challenge caught a Macarani's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angelo Rodrigues helped the player get up and apologised. Angelo Rodrigues hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dida Coelho in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adilson Senna saved Pombos from getting behind. In the 36thth minute of the game Baltazar Mello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Macarani's Hermínio Lago was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Frank Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adilson Senna having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Macarani's zone, Jairo Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermínio Lago came out of the goal and Jairo Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The wind increased when Baltazar Mello made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Jairo Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pombos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jairo Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 55th minute, Andrézinho Ramalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hermínio Lago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Baltazar Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Macarani getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Beto Tande hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Jairo Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pombos's supporters rose to their feet, but Jairo Cardoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermínio Lago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dida Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adilson Senna having to interfere. Pombos's Adilson Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Coelho in the 81st minute of play. If Baltazar Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hermínio Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Cardoso in the 93rd minute of play. The Macarani players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Pombos from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
