Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eliézer de Queiroz started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Ancari getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Rony Abreu hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Horácio Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliézer de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Manoel Souto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Horácio Passos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ibicuitinga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ancari the free kick. Manoel Souto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reynaldo de Azevedo in the 24th minute. In the 24th minute, César Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anderson da Mata in the 27th minute of play forced Ancari's goalkeeper Aníbal Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute Eliézer de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manoel Souto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manoel Souto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliézer de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eliézer de Queiroz in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manoel Souto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Reynaldo de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Souto having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ibicuitinga's zone, Eliézer de Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manoel Souto came out of the goal and Eliézer de Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Eliézer de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Reynaldo de Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Manoel Souto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ancari. If José Carlos Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Manoel Souto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo de Azevedo in the 63rd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Ancari's goalkeeper Aníbal Donato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Carlos Duarte. With a little luck, Ancari's Aníbal Donato got control of the ball when José Carlos Duarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anderson da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ancari's Reynaldo de Azevedo in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Reynaldo de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Eliézer de Queiroz put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Manoel Souto. Ancari's Reynaldo de Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
