Marcelinho da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Souto having to interfere. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibicuitinga's goalkeeper Manoel Souto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Michel Pombal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro de Sena in the 23rd minute of the match. Richard Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelinho da Costa got in the 28th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Manoel Souto handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Eusébio Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute, Jarbas Quadros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 36 minutes, Teodoro de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ibicuitinga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodoro de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Monge Radical's Michel Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson da Mata in the 37th minute of play. If Anderson da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teodoro de Sena was the one to do the kick off. Silvério Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Monge Radical's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Teodoro de Sena fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Jardel de Alcântara fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monge Radical's protests and gave Jardel de Alcântara a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Monge Radical getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Jardel de Alcântara hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the match, Monge Radical's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro de Sena came free, but Michel Pombal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Teodoro de Sena fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Monge Radical's Silvério Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelinho da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Souto having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Anderson da Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibicuitinga's supporters rose to their feet, but Anderson da Mata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michel Pombal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anderson da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michel Pombal having to interfere. Michel Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anderson da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Michel Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
