An unexpectedly hard shot by Léo Salgado in the 14th minute of play forced Real C.A.Pirassununguense's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Arlindo Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Real C.A.Pirassununguense getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Durval Hermes hit a great ball. Osvaldinho Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Eduardo Aguiar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Eduardo Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Léo Salgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Léo Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unahy SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Léo Salgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Haroldo Baiano's late challenge caught a Real C.A.Pirassununguense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Haroldo Baiano helped the player get up and apologised. Haroldo Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Osvaldinho Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Léo Salgado in the 41st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Real C.A.Pirassununguense's Augusto de Amorim got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Carlos Eduardo Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Osvaldinho Cardozo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léo Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Léo Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldinho Cardozo having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Léo Salgado to make the kick off. After having played for 62 minutes, Arlindo Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
