An unexpectedly hard shot by Naldo das Neves in the 20th minute of play forced Jango FC's goalkeeper Reynaldo de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RATOS FC's Valério da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Rodrigues in the 21st minute of play. Jaime Rodrigues's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Valério da Mata skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jango FC's Rodrigo da Rocha shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 28th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Valério da Mata but with some difficulty. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Jaime Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jango FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valério da Mata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Rodriguess short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Valério da Mata to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alex Mendonça's late challenge caught a Jango FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. Alex Mendonça hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Romeu Antunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Jaime Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jango FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jaime Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeu Antunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valério da Mata read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. When Alex Mendonça was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 47 minutes had been played. Alex Mendonça hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Rodrigues made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in RATOS FC's zone, Durval Lago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valério da Mata came out of the goal and Durval Lago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rubinho Tasso's late challenge caught a Jango FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubinho Tasso helped the player get up and apologised. Valério da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Valério da Mata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdemar Barros in the 60th minute of play forced Jango FC's goalkeeper Reynaldo de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Mota in the 62nd minute of the match. Jango FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RATOS FC the free kick. In the 70th match minute, Jango FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Furlan to maneuver through the defense. Jango FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
