The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caetano Martins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Didi Pimenta might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Osvaldinho Cardozo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Didi Pimenta ran back to his position shaking his head. Osvaldinho Cardozo came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Congonhas's Caetano Martins. But to his dismay, Caetano Martins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Martins in the 59th minute of play forced Real C.A.Pirassununguense's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Congonhas's Arlindo de Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osvaldinho Cardozo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Caetano Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Real C.A.Pirassununguense defense, Caetano Martins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osvaldinho Cardozo. The Real C.A.Pirassununguense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osvaldinho Cardozo should have stopped the shot. Osvaldinho Cardozo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Caetano Martins's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. After some careless play in the Real C.A.Pirassununguense defense, Caetano Martins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osvaldinho Cardozo. The Real C.A.Pirassununguense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osvaldinho Cardozo should have stopped the shot. Didi Pimenta was shown his second yellow card after 93 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 94th minute, Didi Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Real C.A.Pirassununguense's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
