The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eusébio Marques received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. If Jaime Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 10 minutes, Jaime Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jango FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reynaldo de Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusébio Marques in the 15th minute. After 18 minutes, Jaime Rodrigues made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Unahy SS's Dênis Borges tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 22 played minutes Unahy SS got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldinho Oliveira. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldinho Oliveira got free with Reynaldo de Queirós in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Reynaldo de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Léo Salgado in the 29th minute of the match. Rodrigo da Rocha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dênis Borges. Unahy SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Unahy SS's Osvaldinho Oliveira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Reynaldo de Queirós. That made the score 2-2 after 41 minutes of play. Reynaldo de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duarte Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eusébio Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Dênis Borges made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Jaime Rodrigues sent off a good shot on target. The referee ignored Unahy SS's protests and gave Régis Félix a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Jango FC booed when Unahy SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Régis Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Rodrigues in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dênis Borges, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 59th minute, Eusébio Marques made a precise shot to the right of Reynaldo de Queirós. Jango FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. 63 minutes into the match, Carlos Eduardo Aguiar notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Jango FC's Reynaldo de Queirós. Reynaldo de Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
