After having played for 10 minutes, Sílvio Luiz Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luzia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luiz Cordeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luan Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sílvio Luiz Cordeiro came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Luzia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sílvio Luiz Cordeiro couldn't finish the play. Roberto Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Magalhães having to interfere. Luzia FC's Abelardo Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Meira in the 42nd minute of play. If Fabrício Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the game, João Francisco Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luzia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Parnaiba FC the free kick. A collision led to Luzia FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. João Francisco Andrade hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute, Marco Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Luzia FC's zone, Fabrício Coutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Magalhães came out of the goal and Fabrício Coutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 60 minutes, Roberto Meira made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Luzia FC's Abelardo Magalhães tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luan Vieira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabiano Salles having to make a save. After 69 played minutes Luzia FC got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luiz Cordeiro. Luzia FC's Abelardo Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Meira in the 73rd minute of play. Sílvio Luiz Cordeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabiano Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sílvio Luiz Cordeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. If Fabrício Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Madureira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Roberto Meira came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Parnaiba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Meira couldn't finish the play. Abelardo Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Meira in the 90th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Parnaiba FC had won after a very even match.
