When Moisés Falcão fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santiago Soldiers FC's protests and gave Moisés Falcão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29thth minute of the game Gualter Boaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Descanco's Sydney Tavares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Descanco's Sydney Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Renato Ganso in the 32nd minute of play. Elder da Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Sydney Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Renato Ganso in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Paulo Renato Ganso notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Descanco's Sydney Tavares. Sydney Tavares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gualter Boaru to strike the kick off in the second half. Elder da Costa's late challenge caught a Santiago Soldiers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elder da Costa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Descanco getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Elder da Costa hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the game, Jonas Vale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santiago Soldiers FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Descanco the free kick. After a rather tough play, Santiago Soldiers FC's Jonas Vale got a free kick in the 61st minute. Roger de Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Roger de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Santiago Soldiers FC's zone, Beto Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamim Meira came out of the goal and Beto Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Santiago Soldiers FC's Benjamim Meira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Soares in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to Descanco getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Durval Velasco hit a great ball. In the 90th minute, Germano Mota sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Descanco's Sydney Tavares didn't even have to move. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Paulo Renato Ganso got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Santiago Soldiers FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
