Alexandre Vale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Haroldo Coelho went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Amauri da Fonseca succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 31st playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Araújo in the 35th minute of play forced Costello's goalkeeper Alexandre Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haroldo Coelho's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After 38 minutes of play, FC Mala's Faustão Batista made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexandre Vale was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Costello defense, Diego Araújo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandre Vale. The Costello fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandre Vale should have stopped the shot.

A collision led to Costello getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ademar Paes hit a great ball. Osvaldinho do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amauri da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 65th minute, Amauri da Fonseca made a precise shot to the right of Osvaldinho do Vale. FC Mala's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. After having played for 75 minutes, Faustão Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Mala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faustão Batista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Haroldo Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustão Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Vale having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FC Mala's zone, Amauri da Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldinho do Vale came out of the goal and Amauri da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Costello's Alexandre Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Coelho in the 90th minute of play. Haroldo Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Vale having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Costello's Lenílson Sabóia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osvaldinho do Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 99th minute, FC Mala's Vivaldo Tavares seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vivaldo Tavares the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Mala protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vivaldo Tavares had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 99 minutes into the game, one of FC Mala:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Osvaldinho do Vale had in the 103rdth minute some difficulties stopping Sandro de Azevedo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Sandro de Azevedo did an outstanding performance 103 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 4-3 to the right of an irritated Osvaldinho do Vale in the goal.
