Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernesto Travassos to make the kick off. In the 62nd minute, Murilo Trevisan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Piauiense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After 65 played minutes Atlético Piauiense got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Trevisan. Cesinha Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo Trevisan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 92 minutes into the game, César Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brusque Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Piauiense the free kick. In the 92nd minute, César Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 94 played minutes, Atlético Piauiense's Víktor Costa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cesinha Santana came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atlético Piauiense reached it. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
