Osvaldinho Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sydney Albuquerque struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilson Trevisan was the one to do the kick off. Luís Gustavo Marquez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maurício Abreu went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. With 61 minutes on the clock, Faustão Damião commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 70 minutes in the game, Ismael Paranaense fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Luís Gustavo Marquez having to interfere. After a rather tough play, ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB's Gugu Prado got a free kick in the 71st minute. If Maurício Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gugu Prado in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osvaldinho Coelho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 81st minute of the match ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB got a corner. Petrópolis Red Devils's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredinho Brodel ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to ATHLETIC VALLADOLID MZB's Sydney Albuquerque getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Rodolfo de Brito struck a weak shot in the 85th minute.
