Gil Branco might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kuuno Laadi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gil Branco ran back to his position shaking his head. Cabo Frio's Kuuno Laadi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Ortiz in the 10th minute of play. Kuuno Laadi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 15th minute, Dino Ortiz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kuuno Laadi. The goal made the score 1-0. Nelson Terra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yan Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Cabo Frio's Yan Mello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nelson Terra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dino Ortiz struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Kuuno Laadi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estrema. In the 24thth minute of the game Yan Mello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estrema's Nelson Terra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Estrema's goalkeeper Nelson Terra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nelson Terra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yan Mello in the 32nd minute of play. Yan Mello struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Nelson Terra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cabo Frio. Izak De Keijsere made a great header on Cabo Frio's corner, it was just that Estrema's Nelson Terra managed to reach the ball for a save. Izak De Keijsere's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Nelson Terra - 1-1 was put on the score board in the 42nd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yan Mello in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelson Terra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 60 played minutes Estrema got a freekick which was hit by Olívio Figueiredo. Yan Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd minute, Dorival Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Válter Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Nelson Terra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nelson Terra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yan Mello's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Nelson Terra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yan Mello in the 72nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yan Mello in the 73rd minute of play forced Estrema's goalkeeper Nelson Terra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Adriano Tróia was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 76 minutes had been played. Dorival Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Nelson Terra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kuuno Laadi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Estrema's goalkeeper Nelson Terra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 94 played minutes Cabo Frio got a freekick which was hit by Elizardo Contera. When Dino Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Estrema fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Ortiz couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Cabo Frio's Mustafa Emrah Vargın got a free kick in the 96th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
