After having played for 31 minutes, Alessandro Favoretto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 9 de Fevereiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Favoretto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Vitório Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alessandro Favoretto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Renato Romero got free with Raí Galvão in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raí Galvão having to interfere. A collision led to Santos F.C getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alessandro Favoretto was the one to do the kick off. Santos F.C's Davi Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Favoretto in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Santos F.C's goalkeeper Davi Baptista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laércio Varela. After a rather tough play, 9 de Fevereiro's Tony Quirino got a free kick in the 66th minute. Cristiano Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raí Galvão having to interfere. When Benjamim Vides was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 75 minutes had been played. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laércio Varela got free with Davi Baptista in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Laércio Varela put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Davi Baptista. The 9 de Fevereiro players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
