Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) palmeirasb's Felippe Pimenta started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind palmeirasb's goalkeeper Ulysses Furtado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tião Guedes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulysses Furtado having to make a save. In the 12th minute Tião Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulysses Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaltino Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Nordestina's Doni Brodel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Nordestina from getting a goal against them. Tião Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Furtado having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Tião Guedes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulysses Furtado. palmeirasb's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tião Guedes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Régis Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Brodel having to interfere. Nordestina's Angelo Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Angelo Freitas put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Ulysses Furtado. Angelo Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ulysses Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Felippe Pimenta fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Isaltino Coelho got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Nordestina:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of palmeirasb:s goal. Despite close surveillance by the defense, Edgar de Salles managed to send off a shot that put the ball into the goal to the left of a disappointed goalkeeper. 1-2 in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Angelo Freitas made a kick off. A collision led to Nordestina getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Jaime Meirelles hit a great ball. After 63 played minutes Nordestina got a freekick which was hit by Enéas de Sena. After recieving a nice pass, palmeirasb's Edgar de Salles tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Régis Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felippe Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Brodel having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Valdomiro Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Régis Siqueira came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the palmeirasb fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Régis Siqueira couldn't finish the play. Angelo Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Furtado having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Felippe Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Brodel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Régis Siqueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doni Brodel was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Felippe Pimenta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doni Brodel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play.
