Osvaldinho Madureira struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Joel Saraiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Palhoça. Joel Saraiva was a little too slow when Cosme Fonda got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. Joel Saraiva came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Palhoça's Osvaldinho Madureira. But to his dismay, Osvaldinho Madureira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Cacá Munhoz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredo de Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Joélson Corrêa charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joélson Corrêa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sipeva EC's Joélson Corrêa got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Cosme Fonda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joel Saraiva having to make a save. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Palhoça's goalkeeper Cacá Munhoz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cacá Munhoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cosme Fonda hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. If Alfredo de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 41 minutes, Osvaldinho Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Palhoça's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldinho Madureira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel Saraiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldinho Madureira in the 46th minute of play. Cacá Munhoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

The wind increased when Osvaldinho Madureira made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Osvaldinho Madureira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Saraiva was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, Deportivo Palhoça's goalkeeper Cacá Munhoz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz de Medeiros. The crowd rose to their feet as Sipeva EC's Joélson Corrêa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cacá Munhoz. That made the score 2-1 after 74 minutes of play. With an all-out effort, Sipeva EC's Cacá Munhoz threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfredo de Carvalho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Deportivo Palhoça's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
