Joel Saraiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorival de Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Anselmo Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sipeva EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Botafogo the free kick. But to his dismay, Alfredo de Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Joel Saraiva was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Silvério Seco. With his leg Joel Saraiva managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Botafogo's Adelino da Silva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 36 played minutes Botafogo got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Paes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz de Medeiros in the 38th minute of play forced Botafogo's goalkeeper Kauã Braga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Adelino da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sipeva EC's Alfredo de Carvalho in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dorival de Brito was the one to do the kick off. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the game, Alfredo de Carvalho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kauã Braga. Alfredo de Carvalho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Alfredo de Carvalho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kauã Braga. That made the score 1-3 in the 85 minute of play. After 90 minutes, Zézinho Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo and the Sipeva EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luiz de Medeiros came free with the goalkeeper in the 96th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Kauã Braga could save by the left post. Sipeva EC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
