Spectators: 7170 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 82) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Eliseu Vieira made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th minute, Osvaldinho Madureira made a precise shot to the right of Luís Fábio Mendes. Arapira SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Cláudio Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Michail Neumann fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Palhoça's protests and gave Michail Neumann a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Arapira SC booed when Deportivo Palhoça was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michail Neumann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tony Favoretto missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 14 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Cacá Munhoz right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Osvaldinho Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Palhoça's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldinho Madureira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Fábio Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Deportivo Palhoça's Osvaldinho Madureira got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 27 played minutes Arapira SC got a freekick which was hit by Eliseu Vieira. In the 28th minute, Osvaldinho Madureira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Arapira SC's zone, Cosme Fonda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fábio Mendes came out of the goal and Cosme Fonda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cosme Fonda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Arapira SC's zone, Cosme Fonda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fábio Mendes came out of the goal and Cosme Fonda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Osvaldinho Madureira to strike the kick off in the second half. If Osvaldinho Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Osvaldinho Madureira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arapira SC's Luís Fábio Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosme Fonda in the 61st minute of play. Luís Fábio Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldinho Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Váldson Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Luís Fábio Mendes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldinho Madureira's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. With a little luck, Deportivo Palhoça's Cacá Munhoz got control of the ball when Cláudio Reis tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71stth minute of the game Osvaldinho Madureira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arapira SC's Luís Fábio Mendes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 75 played minutes Arapira SC got a freekick which was hit by Doni Pinheiro. Osvaldinho Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosme Fonda might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fábio Mendes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cosme Fonda ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 88th minute Osvaldinho Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osvaldinho Madureira in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Fábio Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
