Cássio Catarinense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute Cássio Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Chaime saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brocas Marinhas FC's Norberto Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Monte Cristo FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rubinho Sena was slow to take the kick. During this time Brocas Marinhas FC's players had a chance to rest. Aurelio Chaime made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Carneiro in the 70th minute of play. In the 76th minute of the match, Cássio Catarinense got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aurelio Chaime was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hermínio Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hermínio Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 86 minutes into the match, Cássio Catarinense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurelio Chaime. Monte Cristo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cássio Catarinense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After 90 minutes Monte Cristo FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rubinho Sena who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cássio Catarinense got free with Aurelio Chaime in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Brocas Marinhas FC's Rubinho Sena got a free kick in the 96th minute. Brocas Marinhas FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Monte Cristo FC's much stronger midfield.
