Tocantinense F.C.'s Eurico Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mazinho Furlan in the 33rd minute of play. Lauro Bastos's late challenge caught a Tocantinense F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lauro Bastos helped the player get up and apologised. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pirangucu EC reached it. The Pirangucu EC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tocantinense F.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for Tocantinense F.C..
