Luiz Guilherme Pombal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Leite in the 16th minute of the match. Liverpool's Victor Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Breckenfeld in the 18th minute of play. Nildo Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool's zone, Elder Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Saldanha came out of the goal and Elder Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute, Elder Fernandes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victor Saldanha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Luiz Guilherme Pombal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilvan Alves in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Roberto Breckenfeld managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ceifadores's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Breckenfeld was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute of the match Jânio de Brito sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victor Saldanha skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcus Zonta during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44thth minute of the game Roberto Breckenfeld who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liverpool's Victor Saldanha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 55 minutes of play, Liverpool's Waldemar Leite made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luiz Guilherme Pombal was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Liverpool's Lenílson Fonseca got a free kick in the 61st minute. Ceifadores's Lino Catarinense couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Liverpool. After having played for 66 minutes, Waldemar Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liverpool's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldemar Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mané Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Waldemar Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Luiz Guilherme Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 played minutes Ceifadores got a freekick which was hit by Silvério Recife. Waldemar Leite scored 3-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Guilherme Pombal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 82 minutes into the match, Liverpool's goal looked a bit too open when Silvério Recife came free, but Victor Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute Roberto Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liverpool's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
