With his leg Eduardo Maia managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Liverpool's Gilvan Alves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Darcilandia's Cafu Salles got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Rony Brasil might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victor Saldanha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rony Brasil ran back to his position shaking his head. Eduardo Maia came out of the goal and Waldemar Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 93 played minutes Darcilandia got a freekick which was hit by Cafu Salles. The Liverpool players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
