With his leg Juvenal Linares managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Tejuco's José Pedro Monteiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tejuco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Eduardo Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Tejuco booed when Danúbio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benê Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danúbio's Juvenal Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Baptista in the 82nd minute of play. When Fernando Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Tejuco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Sarmento couldn't finish the play. Benê Queirós was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Benê Queirós hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Tejuco's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
