After a rather tough play, Tejuco's Olavo Baptista got a free kick in the 17th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Eduardo Costa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Noel Fernandes. That made the score 2-0 in the 28 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Olavo Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tejuco's supporters rose to their feet, but Olavo Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noel Fernandes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Luiz Eduardo Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Carlos Eduardo Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olavo Baptista was the one to do the kick off. Arariuna's Noel Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Pedro Monteiro in the 51st minute of play. After some careless play in the Arariuna defense, José Pedro Monteiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Noel Fernandes. The Arariuna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Noel Fernandes should have stopped the shot. Ian Tavares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Noel Fernandes having to make a save. When Carlos Eduardo Costa fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tejuco's protests and gave Carlos Eduardo Costa a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Tejuco's Carlos Eduardo Costa got a free kick in the 58th minute. With a little luck, Tejuco's Marcelo Prado got control of the ball when Luiz Eduardo Mendes tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Ian Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 74 minutes into the game, when Marcelo Prestes put in a rough tackle. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Arariuna! Olavo Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Fernandes having to interfere. Noel Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Sarmento in the 84th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that José Pedro Monteiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Noel Fernandes was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Carlos Eduardo Costa took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Noel Fernandes. Noel Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olavo Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
